I just got a P88, looking for some information on proper oiling a cleaning. I also have a little free play with the slide release. I didn't know if that's normal or can be adjusted out.
Thanks
Jim

I have two of each. 1 P88 nib and 1 P88c nib. 1 P88 fired 200 rounds lnib and finally a P88c fired 1500+, carried and still firing and carrying.

I have the p88compact. It is as good as anything else I own and better than most. I recently purchased a high cap mag, but have yet to test it. I wish they were not so expensive (anyone have a good source?).
P99 magazines (and likely PPQ) work in the P88c. You just have to switch the plastic base plates with flat metal ones for the Beretta 92.

I have a pair of sequentially numbered P88s that I purchased while stationed in Germany...so, no import marks either. Same thing for a pair of P5s, with extra .30 Luger barrels. I've handled many P88Cs,but I just never cared for the ergonomics of them.

Interesting observation, Tim, and another reason why one size doesn't fit all when it comes to firearms. I have had just the opposite experience: I've always found the P88 to be a bit large in the hand to shoot comfortably, even though it cab be a fun range companion, but I sure do like the grip and feel and overall performance of the P88C.
