P88C value...1995 vintage.

I have a P88C that has been packed away in the safe for almost 20 years. It is honestly about a 99% example with Nil grips...the original black plastic grips (and grip screws), cleaning rod, factory test target, owner's manual and two 10 round mags in the OEM box. I even have the original plastic wrapper/bag the gun was in while new in the box. I also have two Walther marked OEM 14 rd hicaps for this weapon. I personally have never fired this handgun and the late collector friend I had bought it from told me he had never either. This 1995-6 (?) example truly looks like new. Since I never use it...I'm consideriing moving it and really have no idea what such a piece is moving for now since I haven't seen ANY type of P88...full size or the more uncommon Compact locally in many years. Any ideas of input would be greatly appreciated.

The hi-cap mags are desirable. Here is a link to Gunbroker listings for sold P88c to give you some idea of selling prices on that platform. You can list it here on the WF and avoid those pesky GB fees, plus find your gun a happy and appreciative owner. I do recommend including all terms, a price, and plenty of photos if you list it here. We have had some scammers from time to time, and anything you can do to add credibility is appreciated.

Nice Walther with Nill grips ~200 miles away?

Must. resist. urge. to. drive. there. and purchase.........I need to stop looking at these pics.

My last trip to that area of Texas had me driving back with 2 NIB P5s.

I have a new larger safe coming soon! More room for the "safe queens".

... and these are the more rare and more desirable Nills for the 88C without the thumb shelf.

Pricing one of these in this condition and with eveything else included is proving to be difficult. I'm just not finding one that is this clean with two sets of grips and four mags. The two new OEM hicaps alone make it even more rare according to my research so far. THEY are almost impossible to find.

I know the feeling, having made a handgun purchase or 2 where there are no comps to establish value.

This my help you some.... https://www.mactecsales.com/p88_compact_s/1965.htm

I've purchased a few sets of Nills from MacTec, good operation. Currently waiting on 3 sets of Target Nills for a P5/P6/P7 RoBar NP3+ trio.

I've been following your thread to see what developed, donmor, because I have one very similar to yours. Mine has been shot some, but only at the range - stayed in gun case otherwise, never carried. I have one hi-cap and 2 10-rders, no Nill grips. I was pretty crestfallen following the link DUA posted. These just haven't appreciated like I thought they should...

I bought a Walther P88 around 1993. It did cost as much as a comparable HK P7M8 then, now there is a big price difference. It is nearly impossible to foresee longterm price development on firearms.
