Cool Shooting a P5 Long

I thought the denizens of the P5 board might appreciate an overdue video I uploaded this morning:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2hkEYuEst4 *

There aren't many videos of P5s on Youtube, let alone a one-of-maybe-80 Long target model.

I put up similar videos of my P88 and P88 Competition, too, so check those out if you're interested.

*Is there not a way to embed Youtube videos?

Lovely P5. Always wanted to get my hands on one of those. I know Tanfo has one (or two, maybe three). Yours is the only other one I've seen except for online images of course. ~J

Awesome, 'Potato! Thanks for assembling the video - I just commented on your video on YouTube... makes me feel like I need to bring mine to the range sometime soon and make something similar to what you made. You're right - there's not nearly enough P5 videos out there and I'm more than willing to contribute to the cause! Yours is the only long-barrel video in the world.

More please!

I sold my regular commercial P5 to help fund this one, since I view it as an upgrade. However, now I feel like it's only right to get another normal P5 and also a P5C to feel complete.

Aside from the lengthened barrel/locking block assembly, there's no difference in the actual pistol is there, 'Potato? That is to say, your barrel should fit in my P5, right? I wonder because my mind's eye paints the image of a skilled welder attaching a P.38 barrel to a P5 barrel assembly and Viola!

That's correct. The P5 Lang also doesn't have a front sight on the slide. I'm not sure you'd end up with a viola, but it would at least be an interesting gun.

I think Earl has a barrel in stock for like $2k, too.

With the long barrel, it potentially makes the P5 mit langen Röhre legal to own in Canada as (I believe) the barrel length now exceeds 104mm (4.1 inches).

A Canadian here posted his once and it was a Lang for that exact reason.

Edit: It was poster Maxim in the P5 barrel lengths thread by unserem heiligen geehrten König der Könige, Herr Tanfoglio. Maxim has #88, and I have #25.

In my months of hunting "all things" P5 Lang/P5 Cross Country related, it seems there are a total of two known P5 Langs (ser #s 25 and 75), and NO known P5 Cross Countrys in the US and Canada.

I would be interested in posts (with serial #s), from those with knowledge of other P5 Langs/P5 Cross Countrys (Countries???) on the North American Continent.
