Took it down. Forget I ever shared anything. Apparently it is "inappropriate for this forum".

Probably because of his right leaning tendencies. So I would assume most of his viewers are also right leaning.

(This comment is just for informational purposes and is not intended to forward any kind of political conversation)

I wouldn't be too concerned about where they are advertising just that it is cool to see them advertised :D

With all due respect, these guys are constitutionalists and hardly a "nut job" portrayal of such.
I believe you because I have no information to the contrary. Note that I did not challenge that at all in my response. I was describing my perception of their skits and program and suggesting that others with political agendas might attempt to convert perception into reality.

If this form of comedy is threatening then why would Walther themselves allow it to be portrayed with their name?
Many companies have discovered after the fact that an advertisement created a negative image they did not desire. Remember....they're human and make mistakes in judgment as we all do at times.

But, hey, lesson learned. This is a "humor-free" zone. So I will take it out of my holster and lock it in my car before I come to the forum.
To the contrary....humor is appreciated and put forth regularly here.

I do understand this and would agree had I been correct when I originally posted this (I thought this was the first time they had advertised) but as RogueTS1 pointed out, this has been used on their show for a while so I doubt this would have gone unnoticed by Walther for this long (assuming they found this to be somehow offensive or threatening to revenue).

If this is a friendly debate about perception: My perception of that video was that it was fun and friendly. The hollywood portrayal of firearms are, by far, more negative than these (mostly clean humor) comedians portrayed.

This includes every single James Bond movie ever made (with Walther playing a huge role).

So I guess my question is: If I had posted a scene from Casino Royal of James Bond shooting people and said, "Walther P99 is in Casino Royal." Would there have been a comment saying, "That is about the stupidest thing I've been unfortunate to watch in I don't know when. It isn't appropriate for this Forum either."?

As I did not write that specific post any response would need to come from the author.

I can say that James Bond and other movies have used Walther firearms and they have been discussed on the Forum. Personally I don't pay attention to things like that so I have always avoided those threads. Now, before you ask......the difference (IMO) is that an advertiser is deemed to be supportive of the program, its message/position and those primarily associated with it. From time to time we have seen how effective boycotts against the advertiser(s) have been and how quickly the advertiser has even terminated its support. Every once in a while we see those advertisements become politicized.

Fair enough about the advertising, however, if they did not want attention drawn to it they wouldn't have advertised. That is not on me. So my posting it here makes literally no difference. In fact, my posting it here would have no affect on their business at all since this forum is a giant advertisement for Walther anyway. If Walther were to pull their advertising, it wouldn't be because of my sharing a video on this forum, with a time stamp, and saying "look Walther has advertised."

It was meant to be purely informational.

I have read threads in this very forum way more threatening to the image of firearms than that video.

I guess my point is: Walther chose to advertise with a company that has youtube videos. Youtube videos are designed to be shared. They are designed to be viewed. So my bringing attention to a video about Walther, is by no means inappropriate to a Walther Forum. Now, if the administrators deem it to be inappropriate to this forum so be it. I have no dog in that fight as I do not own or run this forum I just contribute when I can and I respect it as such.

Now I do understand your original post is, in fact, questioning Walther's choice of advertising and I understand and respect (probably even agree with) that. Your comment did not upset me (I would hardly even call myself upset, more puzzled than anything).

I still go back to my other question, as I have seen many people post about James Bond. I have only responded to a post about James Bond in a way that had nothing to do with the firearms involved in the film because I agree with you and try to stay away from it (the comment I posted was in jest of Bond's "excursions").

Of all the posts I have read about Walther in James Bond films I have never once seen anyone deem them "not appropriate." I would argue, glorifying Walther because of cinema would be far more inappropriate than a commercial for Walther.

When I share a video that I did not make but Walther themselves chose to advertise with, it is somehow not appropriate for a forum dedicated to the company that is Walther firearms. That is my puzzlement.

Again, lesson learned. I took the video down to be respectful of those who are sensitive to such things.

And once again, my sincerest apologies for bringing it up.

I don't see that vid lasting long.

It's real simple guy, Walther forum only allows a 2 or 3 (1 to 10) when it comes to topics that are considered controversial, political, and/or offensive.

I sometimes post on TTAG (4 or 5), and come here pushing this Forums limits (just this week, in fact).

There are plenty of sites to discuss the above linked vid, just not Walther Forums.

I'm not weighing in on the politics of it.

I think its good though that Walther is trying some non-traditional avenues of marketing. The internet generation is more likely to be influenced by a YouTube video than a Guns&Ammo advert.

Walther made great guns for years (P5,P88,P99, ... ) that got little to no traction in the States.

Its good to see them trying new ways to bring positive attention to their products.

Sushhhh.

I'm not done adding P5s and P88s to my collection yet.

Everyone new to Classic Walther handguns, please disregard Jimmo952s prior post.

I think I missed half the conversation and half the controversy. However I have watched Crowder on and off for about 3 years. Some would call his skits "crazy" or " over the top," I would call it mostly "zany." However, he has had some good videos and brought to light so interesting issues. For example, he was the first to interview Stephen Willeford, the man/hero who confronted the Sutherland Springs church killer with his AR-15. He also exposed Anti-Fa plot to use violence against conservatives on an university campus. He even showed how Alexa algorithms are biased.
I for one love seeing him wearing a Walther shirt.
