A Sunny Hello from Miami.

Posted this orginally on the PK.380 but hoping that a "wise walther head" knows the answer...

I notice that when I initially decock my pistol that the trigger stays loose towards the back of the guard. Upon release into the firing position the trigger snaps forward into double action. If I switch safety on the trigger is locked.
Is the initial loose trigger positioned towards the back a correct action or should the trigger also lock in this situation?
