Hello

Just got re-acquainted with Walther. Shot my Swedish Police turning (a PP in .32ACP) and loved it.

Way better than various Interarms .380's I had in the 1990's.So I am here now.

Thanks for allowing me to join. I am a retired collector and a current FFL. I currently own a Walther PPK 7.76mm, Circa 1936 and a Walther P38 9mm, of unknown history. Always interested in learning anything I can about these and other firearms. Thanks for having me. Hope I can add some value to the forum.

Looking forward to my PPS M2.

Q: Does Walther allow me (and other Walther firearm owners) to buy factory replacement parts from them ?

Hello from Buffalo

Hi , just got an old interarms PPK/S, will be restoring it. I have always wanted a PPK, never found one I could afford. This one was a great deal, and I am on my way to fixing it.

Welcome Ray.
The PPK/S is a nice pistol. Have a care with any "restoration" you do. A refinish job will diminish the value of your weapon.

Often times these Rangers only need a simple cleaning and lube to restore them to good working order.

Why not post some pictures of your new "baby" we'd love to see it.

New PPK/S

I am aware of what it might do to the value, but these were painted black, not blued and I will make it as original as possible. In lovely New York it takes time to pick up , today the range I purchased it from is closed, so I wait another day. I will post a pic when I receive it. It has been sorely abused by the previous owners, not cleaned in what looks like 30 years. The barrel hood has been badly scarred, I will need to file it finish it, possibly weld to fill. I have wanted one of these for 20 years, just found this one for a very reasonable amount.

Again I will stress use extreme care before you undertake any "welding" or other refinishing, especially filing.
I've seen too many of these weapons ruined by folks trying their best to restore them or get them back into better condition.

Clean it well with Ballistol, that might even remove that "paint".

We will look forward to seeing the images.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
olsoul does give good advice. IMO, safe and reliable operation may be the first items to address if abused by the past owner. It's a shame people do not take care of their stuff any better than what you have described. Good luck and yes, please, post a pic or few and take us along on how it goes. Welcome
