Gizzy

Old Member at RFC, 19,000 posts and very generous over the years with knowledge. Helped a lot of folks. Has sold his firearms and scopes, etc. He has had some cataracts develop and hasn't been able to work for a year. Family started a "go fund me" for him. I'm linking it here in case someone wants to help him along.

Whew, I'm down here at MD Anderson and will be for another 6 weeks. Money can't help here with a lot of folks. The sick children are the ones who will break your heart, I don't care how tough you think you are. They go in bravely...but some of them have the deck stacked against them. I'd hate to have to be waiting on a simple operation that could restore my sight so I could get back to work.

You can contribute with a credit card, I don't leave a tip. Pretty painless process. 1917

If anyone ever runs into a special need....Go Fund Me actually works. Older fellow at RFC, well, not that old, long time member is losing his sight due to rapid onset of cataracts. His daughter set up a GFM account. So far, every donation has been from RFC members....I threw one in for this Forum. Gizzy needed $6,000 for the operation. They will do one eye and then the other a few weeks later. He can no longer work, can't drive but the surgery will restore his sight 100%. Heck of a thing to be able to have your sight corrected and not be able to afford it. He had a large selection of rifles, good scopes, etc. that he has sold. But what I wanted to report is over $5,000 has been raised in a couple of weeks and some Member there is now matching donations. Looks like Gizzy is going to get his eyes fixed.Be able to work and shoot again. First time I've ever followed much of this GFM business. 1917

Gizzy met his goal. After fees of 2.9% and $ 0.30 per donation Gizzy topped out just above his goal of $ 6,000. He is one thankful Member and now off to get his eyes operated on. Hope it works out well for him. 1917
