Post Robert James Keeshan!

I was looking up some old Kids Shows on Wikipedia.org, and I happened to see a Name I remember all too well. Robert James Keeshan. He had been the Original Howdy Doody, and Remembered by the World as Captain Kangaroo on his Show that ran from 1955 the Year before I was Born to 1984, when I was over in Germany in that God Awful 3rd Armored Division. While it was a Kids Show, I had many Adults who watched it with their Children tell me of funny scenes that they also liked as well. He did indeed as I remember have a cast of Characters on his Show, such as the Talking Grandfather Clock, the Mouse Family in the Wall, Dancing Bear, Mr. Moose, and Bunny Rabbit. However, it was Mister Greenjeans who stole the show. He would always do something odd bring in odd Animals to show off on the Show. in 29 Years they really put together some quality Programming for the Kids. I do recall seeing part of one Show, at the end of the 1970's The Captain was talking about The Letter of the Day which was the Letter E on this show. While he was taking about things that begin with the Letter E, Mr. Greenjeans showed up as a Nut Job Professor. He asked what was the Captain talking about. he said the Letter E, and said the Eraser on a Pencil begins with E. well anyway Mr. Greenjeans had a field day on this Show, He said you want to race an E! So he gets a 3 Wheeled Bike, and a large Block with the letter E on it, and starts to race around the Studio, with the big Letter E following him. One of the funniest scenes I have ever seen. only Robin Williams could have pulled that off the same way. What a great Show that was for Kids, instead of the Junk on T.V. now. Sadly Bob Keeshan died in January, 2004 at the Age of 76. Mr Greenjeans had Died in 1987. Paul

And today, Howdy Doody is running our country.

Clarabell could do a better job. No tweets, but a lot of horn honking. I'd be OK with that.

Yes.....my CRS is getting worse.

Let me try this. I had a crush on Princess SummerFallWinterSpring, and I thought Mr. Flub-a-Dub was cool, cuz he was a combination of eight animals. He had a duck's bill, a cat's whiskers, a spaniel's ears, a giraffe's neck, a dachshund's body, a seal's flippers, a pig's tail, and an elephant's memory (unlike me).

Kowabunga, its time for my nap.

I see someone had to interject politics into an otherwise nice thread.
