There are other cities that are trying to become "Second Amendment Sanctuaries" as well.

This is what it may come down to.

IMO, political posturing to get votes more than solving any real problem. YMMV

As a Missourian, this makes my heart beat fast and hard.

We're also home to the place where the B2 sleeps...

Stand back boys, we're gonna show you it's done! :D

It won't pass the legal "smell" tests but it is always fun to watch politicians drum up votes from their base.

Well first off the bill is not an enacted law so it may well be political posturing. I am shocked.

The smell test formerly known as judicial process is another form of politics.

Judge / court shopping commonly applied.

Look to some examples

The second amendment sanctuary won't likely pass the smell test because it too blatently limit fed power and let the common folk keep their scary guns.

So what about "undocumented migrant" sanctuary cities/sanctuary states.

They must have passed the smell test because they are there look to that stellar example California. Or due to make up of the 9th circuit nopponent not risking a challenge.

NY SAFE Act CA Handgun Roster state laws have so far passed the smell test. Even though clearly violate common use per Heller and McDonald Fed law. N Y 2nd circuit CA 9th Circuit.

So with the right judge(s) 8th circuit court why not pass the smell test for this MO state law if it ever unlikely become enacted law.

For reference Illinois had no conceal carry permit and was challenged in the 6th federal circuit court. The circuit court ruled that IL violated the second amendment rights and ordered either IL pass a shall issue permit or after the court assigned date IL would become a permit less state. IL did not appeal because they recently list McDonald and did not care to risk a loss on this.
So the politicians scrambled to get the concel permit enacted before that date.

So in that case the smell test combined with politican manuvering worked out for the good people of IL.

The MO bill most likely will never get enacted.

Remember that marijuana is banned under federal law and yet 15+ states made it legal or decriminalized!

So if it passes, and you want to make and own machineguns in MO, the locals will care less, and the feds will have to come and prosecute you with no assistance from the sate or local authorities? :)

Deerfield ILL. just had their city ordinance banning semi auto rifles, handguns and shotguns shot down by a judge. Of course they plan on appealing. Several 2nd amendment organizations went after Deerfield and won the first battle. Interesting reading if you get the chance.

Wait and see. I've watched these before...
