Was the first responder deal $340? Doesn't sound so great, compared to the Creed I bought last month for $259... unless the 3rd magazine is made of gold.

Glad you spotted a treasure Herb. I've also come across bargains that beat Blue Line offerings, not often but they are out there. It is always wise to comparison shop!

Sometimes a Blue Line dealer will match the price even if he/she loses money on the deal (or says he does) to keep good will.

I had the idea that $340 was a good offer. That's probably because of the fact that in Switzerland I'd have to pay about the double price.

Walther is MARKETING. They have a program similar to Glock's Blue Label, and the LEO/First Responder program that many others do.

It is a way that someone who IS special can also FEEL special, and get something a little different. In this case, an extra magazine, in some cases, those cool phosphorous sights that I wish all manufacturers would offer.

For anyone who thinks the Creed is not suitable for LEOs and First Responders, I get it, but it is a free country. If you don't like, then get a PPQ or P99 instead.

It is as simple as that. Free market capitalism will kill the Creed, and that silly name isn't helping.

By the way, I like the design of the Creed and the PPX. The hammer ignition, but with a very light trigger that is DAO on every shot (reminds me of the HK LEM trigger system) is a good idea. I can do without the giant size and the two-piece barrel though. I suspect there are other things that would need correction before it would be suitable for heavy use.

Herr Walther Unproven
I don't know of any department, at least locally, that would approve that for carry.

Security guards, sure, but for sworn duty, doubtful.

Marketing, marketing, marketing.

Same with Walther calling the OD Green P99 a 'Military' P99.

It seems the manufacturers know FULL well they're "blurring the line" with these "LE/FR Specials".

Some in the firearm purchasing public see "LE/FR Special" and think the gun has passed rigorous testing and has been approved as a service duty weapon, while this is hardly the case.

It's a "feel good/thanks" for those who purchase, worded as a hoodwink for the uniformed, leading them to think the item is better then it really is. An ACTUAL service duty cleared pistol for around $300 (with 3 mags) would be an awesome deal.

Package PPQs with 3 mags, and sell for $300. I'll take 4 at a minimum.

.
I've already got 4. But at that price, I'd buy 4 more. Wait, make it the Q4 and I'll even up my offer to $325 a piece.
