Why a 3 piece barrel?

I had seen that the PPX had a 3 piece barrel so I asked Walter tech support via email if the Creed did. They replied identical barrels on both guns.

I sent a follow-up question asking why the 3 piece barrels but haven't heard back. Anyone here know why?

It is for cost savings, parts of the barrel are MIM. The Creed is an entry level pistol and a decent one with a good warranty but they had to cut costs to sell it at the price point it goes for.

I don't know if there are any high mileage 10,000 rounds plus PPX out there to establish the durability of such a barrel.

There is a member that has run 15K or more rounds through his PPX without an issue since it came out. I've only run a couple PPXs but not for more than 1K each.

Because they wanted to avoid the cheap appearance of a 4-piece barrel.

The three piece MIM barrel is one good reason never to buy a CREED. There are others.

From what I've heard they are selling well. Also, I've yet to have a problem with this setup since I bought my first PPX four years ago. I'm glad I picked it up.

I have had a P99 barrel come apart at the lug under the chamber, this was an old Gen1 P99 with a very low serial number too just after they came out. Will not trust barrels now that are made from multiple pieces. MIM is also not a way to inspire confidence.
