A video will Help a bunch!

If you give the gun to an expert shooter and they have the same issues then we are on to something.

Make sure the gun is clean and lubed too.

And IMO it shoot any ammo you feed it. 115, 124, 147....it should cycle.

It shouldn’t be hard to rack at all....that has me suspicious.

My guess is this:

- Limp wristing

- Riding the slide

- dry and no lube

- Bad machining and the slide is rubbing.

WaterDR, "It shouldn’t be hard to rack at all....that has me suspicious."

When I said that my slide was real hard to rack, I guess I meant in relation to my other guns. You mentioned that it should not be hard to do it. It was.

Today I took the CREED to the range for the second full workout, without a moment's problem....except that I found the slide hard to rack by hand.

Then I asked a friend to try it out. I really felt good about the gun, and wondered if I was just showing my pride in owning the gun. He took the gun and the loaded magazine from me. He installed the mag, and racked slide.

"Man", he said "this thing is really easy to pull back." ??? Really? I took it from him and give it a try again. Still very hard for me.

Did I ever mention that I have acute Rhumatoid Arthritis, having been tested positive for three different variations for it? Without a doubt, what you and others experience as light springs are just too tough on me I guesss. I can seldom
even release the slide on a new magazine installation on the CREED by simply pulling the slide thumb lock tab down.

So in this regard, I am false reporting an issue. It seems to be only an issure to me.

Maybe its time to consider a little helper Safest way to rack your pistols Handi-Racker I've seen these, but never used one. However I DID make something very similar. It worked like a champ for me. Might want to give it a try.

Here's another link to a site that I've also found helpful. https://www.corneredcat.com/article/...ack-the-slide/

Handi-Racker Makes Racking a Pistol Easy [VIDEO]

I thought that I'd replied to his thread last night. Guess I must not have finished it or posted it.

I did look over the links that you posted. I really do like the Handi-Racker. I am going to have to get me one. The video showed that there were three different sizes, but when I went to price (aprox. $20) them, I found that they actually make about five different sizes.

The video suggests that we keep one in our range bag for emergencies. It so happened that I had one of those situations just like he showed in the video a couple of weeks ago. I had taken three of my grandkids to the range, and asked my daughter and son-in-law to accompany me. Daughter is a Probation and Parole office, and the SIL works in Drug Enforcement for Homeland Security. So both of them have great gun skills and were both better at doing the safety lecture before we started than I was.

They brought along and shot their service pistols, but the kids were strictly shooting my two .22's One was an old H&R .22 six shooter revolver, and the other was an S&W Victory.

For the first time, that Victory jammed on me just like in that movie. The slide would not budge foreward or backward. I tried my best to free it, but just didn't have the strength. Sure enough, SIL opened his bag and pulled out something much like that Handi-racker. Not quite the same, but very similar. Worked perfectly.

Thanks.
