Striker Spring

So... I ordered a new recoil spring, Walther mistakenly sent me a striker spring. When I went to change out the striker spring, I noticed the new one is much longer than the old. I am sure it is just compression over time, but figured I would ask the collective wisdom before calling Walther to be sure, as it is p a pretty big difference. What say you??
