Original CCP Difficult Disassembly/Reassembly

I have had my CCP fo a while now. I have read posts for field strip and watched numerous videos. To date, regardless of what I do, it takes more than five minutes and numerous attempts to get the slide off. Reassembly is just as bad, all the stars have to align and only when Jupiter aligns with Mars, am I successful. What a piece of ****. Customer service is no help, the only thing they have to offer is “Good Luck”. Never again will I buy a Walther.

Relax, I have 6 Walthers and the only 1that gave me a garden time was the CCP.I was struggling like you are on the take down. Couldn't get it right so it's in my gun safe. Don't judge other Walthers because of the design of the CCP.

Have you seen this video? Ekjunge is a member here and has done a lot with the CCP including videos.

Welcome Pine_Worker. I've been wanting one of those old ones that doesn't work properly. I'm good for $51. Need my FFL address? I won't purchase a new one but would like an old one to play with. 1917

The first thing you must do is make certain the chamber is empty and either the magazine is empty or moved.....yes, it's basic but also potentially life saving. Next, be certain the striker is uncocked by pulling the trigger. Then, do the following:

1. Using the disassembly tool align it just under the silver clip on the locking catch
and angled upward.

2. Press inward until the locking catch travels a minimum of 5/16ths of an
inch to allow the slot on the right side of the catch to move past the
retaining pin.

3. Move slide slightly to the rear as you lift it off the counter plate.
