Has anyone else noticed that the letter and digit portions of the serial number ranges on that page are inversed? For example:

PPK 0001-PPK 1500

This is obviously for the 75th Anniversary PPK for which 1,500 were made. But, the serial number on the frame follows the pattern xxxxPPK. Here is mine:

I own two PPK/S pistols that are affected, so three will be going back.

I havn't even picked mine up yet .It is on layaway . I hope he just lets me move the money over to something eles . Or sends it in to get fixed while Im paying for it .I don't think I want to pay on the gun for two months then have to send it in to S&W and wait for who knows how long to get it fixed .

Some of you speculated that they might replace the slides as well. Has anybody talked to them about specific requests they might have with their particular gun? I just paid a bid of cash to mill the slide and get some tritium Novaks installed on my PPK/s and I DON"T want them to replace my slide. I'd call them right now but they're closed. I also did a bunch of other mods to my gun that I wouldn't want them to mess with. Anybody have any experience with their own modified gun and sending it to Smith and Wesson? I sent a Kel tec to Cocoa, FL and they sent me a new slide while the old custom sights were discarded! I don't want this to happen to this gun too.

At least Ruger used a diamond stamp to indicate when an LCP had been upgraded. I wonder how many folks are going to just whack their guns with a center punch
(or rusty nail) and then dump the things rather than waiting for S&W to get around to fixing them...

At least it will be down in the hammer groove and not at the exterior surface.

I entered my information last night, but I haven't received any pre-paid billable stamp or shipping instructions via E-mail. Is this normal? Has anyone else received the pre-paid billable stamp or shipping instructions? Thanks.
