Got a nickel slide PK380 with a hopps9 gun cleaning kit and a 9mm barrel brush out the door for $384 at a LGC. (Kames Sporting Goods for the other Akron poster above).

I was offered the nickel slide but opted for black. I have a preference for low-flashyness in guns.

I purchased one on http://www.gunbroker.com from Murray Outfitters. When I opened the box and field stripped the PK 380 it looked like the slide and barrel were not new. The inside of the slide had a 1 1/4 inch long section that looked like it was polished with sand paper. The top of the chamber on the outside of the barrel looked also like it was polished with sand paper. Has anybody had this happen to them? What did your two tone Walther PK 380 look like inside the slide and on the outside of the barrel when it came out of the box new? Also, the ejector looked like it had a hair line crack in it and it appeared like two pieces of metal were welded into one. I called Smith and Wesson and they are sending me a shipping label so they can look at it. This pistol has never been fired by me. Also the barrel had some rust spots on it when I looked at it with a magnifying glass. The steel slides in the frame also had small rust spots on them.
Thanks, Hounddog2342 |

Thanks Searcher for the link to the other thread. I am still going to let Smith and Wesson look at it. If they say it is ok then I will follow suit and do some polishing on the frame. I will see what they say about the ejector as well as the rust spots.

When I first field stripped my PK, (after having read your post about rust) I notice what appeared to be rust but later realized it was not. Seemed to be some kind of assembly lub.
