P22 hi capacity 25rd mag!

Sponsored Links
well like most people, I've wanted more out of my P22 I've decided to take two mag apart and weld them together. to get at least a 25rd mag.

this is about 25% done.

mods done to the P22 are...

1. polished barrel ramp and board out throat <- stopped about 1/3rd of my jamming problem
2. removed the mag safety <-best thing i've done so far.

Is there a design issue with .22 cartridges and needing skinny magazines? Can't they use a "normal" size mag such as like a 9mm double stack/staggered and fill it up with at least 20 or so .22LR? I mean, there's certainly enough room in the grip...and going through a 10 round mag is too easy with a .22.

I've seen this before, and I'd give it a go if I had access to a welder. It would also be nice to see a drum magazine for it...that would look pretty goofy, but would be fun as hell.

the P22 mags ARE double stacked. the primer side is double stacked but the projectile end crosses over each other so they are straight when the come out of the mag.

and yes a company could make a 20rd mag that fits flush into the grip but will require a different design of magazine. also the p22 needs the magazine "button" to have the slide lock on the last round. it can work with out it, but i'd prefer it worked like any other auto hand gun.

i still haven't worked on this magazine the rest of the way, i've been busy. but will post when i've made progress.

Would it be possible to grind down the plastic in a mag to fit in a couple more bullets? Or would that end up damaging it completely?

that is sweet.....you almost need a suppressor on the front to make the gun look somewhat symmetrical now

www.waltherusa.net/views/p22.pdf this is a diagram of the gun, remove parts numbers... 23,24,&34 just remove them and reassemble the gun. the clip will lose the spring action when ejected, but seeing how the clip is pointed down when you do this, its not a big deal. one less part to cause a problem

you'd want to remove the plastic on the bottom of the follower, http://www.magazineparts.com/productDisplay.php?id=P3 this is a +3rd conversion.

Cool thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Although I am a little superstitious about the number 13, but if I keep one in the chamber that's 14.
