Show me proof that P22 is made by Umarex

I sent a email to Walther and they said the P22 is made in Germany by Walther.

I don't have "proof" other than what I will lay out here.....

Some info on the Koeln proofhouse, which is the proofmark on the P22 and the new SP22 (which is also made by Umarex)

I think it would be logical that guns made near Koeln get the Koeln proof mark and not the Ulm proof which is over 5 hours driving distance from Arnsberg where Umarex is located at

I know this is not what you were looking for ..... but belive me the last time I checked there was no P22 at the Walther/Ulm plant.
I can't do more than ensure you that my info is correct..... and given that Umarex owns Walther it is logical

I also contacted Walther and asked if the P22 was made by Umarex. They say no made completely in Germany by Walther.

I'm still not sure who makes it.

As you can see, Walther is part of the Umarex group. They have more than one factory, and therefore Walther-branded pistols can be made in more than one place. The P22 is a good example (good as in "example", and not necessarily good as in "pistol"), and most likely the SP as well. Whether or not a pistol is made in Ulm or elsewhere, or branded as Walther or not, it's still an Umarex product.

Umarex is the name found on a series of CO2 pellet pistols. Since they aren't firearms, they aren't made to the levels of sturdiness as would be found on a typical firearm. Many feel (me included) that the P22 is not made as well or is as sturdy as a typical handgun.

Therefore, Umarex in and of itself is not a negative, but is percieved as such when it comes to the P22.

From all that I can find out, including from the link provided here, the Umarex P22 is an airsoft gun or a blank pistol. The actual P22 is made by Walther.

Check the proof marks on the finished pistol. The P22 is proofed in Koln (Cologne), home of Umarex. The Walther pistols are proofed in Ulm, home of Walther.

I can't see this issue as bearing much on the quality of the product. If Walther did assign P22 manufacturing to Umarex, it may have been simply because they found, after finishing the P22 engineering, that the Umarex factory had tooling that more nearly met their manufacturing requirements.
