Walther Olympia <=> Norinco clone

Hello from Bavaria,

pls. help me.

I own an originale Walther Olympia .22 Jaegerschaftmodell but without magazine.

Is the Norinco magazine working in the original Walther?

Are the Norinco sights and other parts fitting to the Walther? interchangeable

Who may offer me an working original Walther magazin?

Lets talk

I have no idea whether the parts are interchangable. I would tend to doubt it, however. I can say that the copies show up on the auction block regularly and generally sell for somewhere in the upper $300 to lower $400 range. A nice Walther original in excellent shape will start at $1,500 to $1,700 and will often head north of that rapidly.

The magazines from the Norinco clones DO work in the original Walther Olympia pistolen, but may require some minor fitting. I purchased just such a clone with two magazines, and kept one magazine before selling the clone. The Norinco magazine holds only eight rounds, while the original magazine holds ten rounds. But still, if you are in need of a spare magazine, it is one way to acquire one. Good luck! KK

All I had to do was sand a bit of wood off the base of the clone's magazine and make a slight bend on the magazine's feed lips and then the clone magazine functioned fine in my original Walther. Since I already have a Walther Olympia Jaegermodell, I don't really need another. KK

Walther - Norinco Comparision

Hello Walther friends,

this weekend minus 15 celsius i was able to shoot both pistols.

The Walther is working perfect with a Norinco Magazin, no magazin adjustment needed! You may fine tune the magazin catch but it is not necessary for proper function. The magazin is fitting tight in the Walther so the catch is just nice have.

The Norinco Slide works well with the Walther base but not vice versa!

pls. see the pictures

Any comments welcome

regards

BigBuck

That's fascinating information and good to know for future Walther owners who are having difficulty finding magazines. Who'd a thunk it? Thanks for sharing it ... and happy shooting. Hope you are using gloves and ear muffs.
