Walther TP22

I found a super rare Walther TP in .22 long rifle earlier this year at a gun show. I got it for what I considered a fair price and was delighted. I already had one in .25acp but as you folks stateside know the .22 models are super rare only being introduced in 1967 and banned from import in 1968.

That's a nice score. You don't see many TP models of any caliber offered for sale these days; to find one in .22 lr is good fortune, indeed. Thanks for taking the time to post it here. Did it come with any extras: manual, box, extra mag?

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I had not been on here much lately but suddenly this little gun had attracted some attention with offers to buy it from another forum member. However we can't agree on a price.

You just don't see them around much, if at all. I don't think that I've seen a TP model offered for sale for going on five years now. I don't check all of the sites every single day, of course, but ... you just don't see them come up for sale too often. Those folks who do happen to have one tend to want to hang onto it, if for no other reason than it's increasingly difficult to replace down the road.

Very true, I had one in .25 as well, in near mint condition, in the box and only sold it after I secured this .22 caliber version. With less than a year of importation and the scarcity this was the first .22 TP I had ever seen outside of a reference book. Needless to say I did pay quite a bit more for this but when you want something so rare sometimes you have to step up...

With Xmas coming up (and two kids) I did weaken and tossed out a price that I would part with it for ($2500), but I know if I let it go I would have sellers remorse as the odds of ever finding another or replacing it for that is very, very unlikely, so I am rethinking it.
