Question re: factory-threaded G22

Short version: I recently picked up a factory-threaded Walther G22 and I am trying to figure out the thread size/pitch so I can get an adapter for my rimfire suppressors.

Long version: I never bought a G22 because the mags aren't compatible with my P22 mags (big design/marketing mistake IMHO), but now that I have developed a greater interest in "all things bullpup" I thought I'd give it a second look. My other reason for hesitancy was that I would want it threaded to work with my rimfire suppressors and I have always heard/read that threading a G22 was quite a chore and that they didn't come threaded from the factory in the US market.

So imagine my surprise when I came across a small stack of factory threaded G22s in a large LGS. The owner of the shop told me (and I have no reason to doubt him, been doing business with him for years) that these were a very short factory-threaded trial run for the US (50 total) and he had bought all that were left/available. I bought it on the spot.

Sadly, when I got home I realized that it wasn't quite threaded 1/2x28 (more or less the standard for .22 suppressors in the US and what both of mine are compatible with). It is very close, but not quite exact... and I don't want a baffle strike! I also tried 1/2x20 (I had an adapter lying around in that thread size/pitch) and that isn't it either. I believe it is some metric size, but I don't know where to start. FTR, I read the manual from front to back and could not find any reference to the threaded bbl at all, let alone the threading specs.

1) Does anyone know more about these factory-threaded US G22s and can share the story?

2) Does anyone know what the thread size/pitch is on these or, barring that, what it is for the threaded Euro models?

Thanks in advance for any/all help!!!

I would start with a thread gauge, which resembles a pack of serrated feeler gauges, and will accurately identify U.S./Metric/Whitworth threads.

Next to my digital calipers and my straight-edge steel rule, it's the measuring tool I reach for most often.

A good one can be bought quite economically at a local auto-parts house or at Sears, or on the internet from MSC or Brownell's.

Appreciate the comments above but I don't have any of the tools you mentioned and really don't need to or want to buy them unless I have to, because everything else I have threaded is a std. 1/2x28.

I took the thread protector to a local hardware store and tried to match it up with a bolt for thread size/pitch but couldn't find a match.

Anyone else have any info on these threaded US models and/or the threaded Euro models?

Might I suggest that you email Walther Germany direct and ask them?
Avoid asking S&W. They are unlikely to know or care...

EDIT: 30-seconds in Google found this...

How do I go about fitting a silencer to my Walther G22? - Yahoo! Answers
Wow -- I called myself searching for it before I even started trying the forums.

THANKS!!!

Y'know, the closest I cam e to fitting anything at the hardware store was a 12mm bolt, but the pitch was wrong.

I'll try to find an adapter here in the US today.

THANKS AGAIN!!!
