Scam on Armslist for PPK

Saw this listing
ARMSLIST - For Sale: WALTHER PPK 9MM KURTZ/.380ACP
for a PPK for $640
and when I inquired the photos sent to me had GUNBROKER.COM - GUNSRC all over every one. When I looked up a few past sales on gunbroker, it popped right up as one purchased for $1625 a month ago. All the exact same photos.
When I asked for the seller to send me newer photos without the "GUNBROKER" all over them, he sent me a new batch - these were for a PPK/S with a totally different serial number.
He has responded back when I asked why he showed me two differenet types of gun with two different serial numbers. But he was eager to try and make the sale and ship it!

Just wanted to warn everyone.

That sounds sooooo much like the guy that was trying to pedal a P5C on this forum a couple of weeks ago for $750.

I was the first one to PM him with 'where do I send the money?'

Long story short, it didn't take too long before I determined this guy was full of poop.

I bailed.

I flagged it but its still up and not flagged when I go back to it.

I also corresponded with the P5C guy using the online photos from someone else to try and scam us. He also sent me a second bunch of photos of a different P5C with different serial numbers.

I say either work with people who have developed some degree of trust, use some sort of escrow agency or make sure you meet them in person - with backup in a public place.

Armslist Scamster P88C

This guy posted P88C for $950 and after extensive research, I discovered that he is in Nigeria. He posts an existing address in Venus, Florida probably working with a fellow scammer. The photo he posts is a gun that was posted on GunsAmerica by a legitimate owner (same serial). After insisting on a copy of his FFL, he produced one that was registered to an FFL in Texas (forged).
I notified Armslist about this and his first posting was removed.
He is back there again with the same posting and a address in Texas.

The asking price should've been tipoff enough.
