Nickel PPK Prewar for sale online

Pre War Walther PPK nickel cal.22LR for sale (982661191)

To relive an old subject...from what I am reading, I take it this is the wire wheeled then chromed or otherwise shiny GI bring back (cert mentioned in the ad), not a factory nickel like finish?

.
Are you thinking of buying this one or just curious?
.
The seller says it's the original finish but it looks like there's pitting under the plating. Even the extractor looks like the surface of the moon. It may be an old refinish but I don't see this gun as factory original. Opinions?

Both...but suspect..hence the search and the question. I am looking for any non-import marked ppk or pp in 22...ppk prefered. I have a 1966 pp in 32 with only an hk mark on the front of the grip..hand strap is it? How common are these hk marks compared to interarms etc.. not sure the smith and Wesson marked versions are in the same category.

Looks like a refinish. A factory nickle finish PPK in .22 LR pre 1946
is beyond rare. The finish on factory pre 1946 PPK and
PP pistols was more of a soft frosted, satin finish, appearance.

You're thinking of the Verchromt finish, that has the special frosted look. Factory nickle was polished finish.
