Reason for discontinue?

Talked to a Walther rep at the PA Outdoor Show this weekend. Asked him right out, why they discontinued the PPX.

He said that i he PPX ended up competing to closely with the PPQ, "Their flagship model". He also said not be surprised if we see something coming out to replace the PPX in the next year or so.

So they discontinued the PPX because I bought three of them instead of a PPQ. I guess I will just have to get a Q now!

Walther has discontinued a number of models, some of them outstanding (the P38 and the exquisite P5 springs to mind). That doesn't make them any less shootable or desirable, or even collectible. While I wouldn't place the PPX in the same category as either the P38 or the P5, it's still a fine handgun that actually works. Not all of the current models in the Walther line can say the same.

They've had them at that price for well over a year now. The price is suppose to go up this week.

Well guys, in 10 days I have my annual check with a range shooting in various situations, under pressure and stress, plus me with my K9 and then we will see if the PPX will make it on duty! Big step!
