I'm really confused...I do notice the recoil spring fits very loolsely. Unlike my Glocks. Is this normal? Any thoughts as to what might be causing the problems? Same Winchester ammo I used flawessly thru my other PPS. Since this is my CC weapon...I'm bummed and certainly don't trust it to save my life. Any help appreciated....

Are you sure that the recoil spring is seated correctly? I have found that it needs to be depressed just the smallest amount to get it seated properly. Its kind of difficult to explain, but if you seat it loosely where it belongs, it needs to be depressed and put just a fraction lower into the barrel into a little 'notch'. It might be the slightest difference of how the spring is seated but it might do the trick.

best of luck

but if you arent having the same problem with the other one, you probably already knew this (sorry, I just remembered that this is your second PPS)

Exactly ....thats why I moved from the Glock 27 to the PPS 9mm for CC. I can carry the PPS even while seat belted in my truck...I used to have to remove the Glock because of thickness. And...I have so much control and accuracy on the PPS.. but now with these malfunctions I don't trust it. It has to go back to the proving ground. The dealer I bought the PPS from was the personal owner and swears there was never a problem....hmmmmm. Sounds like a whistle I hear blowing....I believe the Karma train has a new stop to make!!

Man I wondered that. Owning several Glocks... those springs are so tight. When I take my PPS apart the recoil spring literally falls out. But the other one I have that operates flawlessly is basically the same way. But I'll certainly look a bit closer at it.

yeah its definitely worth taking a look at- when the spring in my PPS is seated, it's seated firmly - I can flip the slide upside down and it doesnt just 'fall out'- it needs to be removed.

Shaw,

Mine was that way when it was new.

Try rotating the two ends a bit and take some light oil on a patch and work it around the springs.

Then re-install it and check for compression.

[QUOTE=onacoma;161836]Two of the SKs are in .357 Sig which is the 9mm I perfer. The 9mm SK is my range gun. If the PPS was to introduce a .357 Sig that could get me to try another one.

I too love the 357 Sig, and own several pistols in this caliber (Sig 239, S&W M&P357C, and Glock 32) plus a G33 barrel in my Glock 27. If someone were to get around to making a 357 Sig barrel for my 40 PPS, I'd be happy to buy one. Real or imagined ballistics aside, it's just FUN to shoot them! Especially if one reloads the caliber, since it's cheaper...

After more testing....

OK...finally got to re-test (just got back from Europe touring with the lovely Reba McEntire)

No sloppy feeds this time ...but still having the problem with the slide locking back. So I tried a mag from the good PPS (I have two) ...still failed, tried recoil spring from good one, still failed. But I did realize something ...it only fails on rapid fire. So for instance ...if I shoot a round every .8 seconds or so and emtpy the mag ...the slide locks back. If I increase the the fire rate to 5 or 6 rounds per second ...and empty the mag ...the slide lock fails, every time. I am carrying the weapon now...because it performed flawlessly on feeds...and I LOVE firing this handgun. But I sure would like to figure this out. I'm very meticulous about all my shit working.

As far as the post above ...I'm not sure what the followers are or where to find them...

ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!
