Trigger Pinches
Hi! Newbie on the forum. I've searched the threads, and have found nothing on this topic. I've been active in shooting for a few decades, and I am having a problem with my PPS 40 S&W. The trigger/safety pinches the heck out of my trigger finger It doesn't seem to matter what part of my finger is on the trigger, each shot still pinches. No blood or marks, yet. Does anyone else have this problem? This is my first firearm with this type of safety.

I only got a 100 rounds through my 40 but I have never gotten pinched,
thegap between mine is not wide enough to get any of my finger down in, you might check and see if there is anything you can tighten. here is an exploded diagram of the gun from the Walther Germany web site, http://www.carl-walther.de/files/pdf/PPS_2753880.pdf |

I only have 500 rounds down range and I have not had any problems. Sorry to hear about yours. Are you "dragging" you finger on the trigger guard or is the the trigger pinching your finger?

also a newbie. just returned from the range with my new pps 40 and a blood blister on my trigger finger. whats up with that? i thought it was just from a new scratchy trigger and 200 rounds. i see someone else with that problem also. i own glocks and am familiar with the trigger safety. never had this kind of issue before.

100 rounds 2 weekends ago and then 200 rounds last weekend through our new 9mm and I hardly even feel the trigger safety. Don't think I've even given the safety a thought while shooting. This being my first handgun I thought my hand would be sore afterward but found myself wishing I'd brought more to shoot.
Is the safety loose or sticking out too far from the trigger? I'm looking at mine and I don't see how it could possibly pinch my finger. |

I don't have this issue either...it actually seems very difficult for me to replicate by dry firing, I can't get it to pinch.
Well, no offense to anyone, but we always seem to think it is the firearm first, operator never. Don't get me wrong, I am not discounting any aspect of your firearm maybe not being up to spec. But can anyone else dry fire or fire your weapon with or without it doing the same thing? Any time I have had an issue with a firearm, and that has been rarely thankfully, I've asked a rangemaster or someone I trust to fire the weapon a few times if they are comfortable doing so and let me know what they think. Quick story - my first handgun was the first coming of the springfield XD .45 and I loved it. When I fired it, my wife fired it, or a couple friends fired it, we always shot low left and I was ready to send it off to get the sights looked at or sell it. I asked "mac" the range officer to come over and fire it and he put a quick mag through it, key-holing the bullseye with just about every shot with rapid fire. He unloaded and showed clear, turned around and said, "Well, it isn't the gun." Needless to say, I spent a lot of time working with the pistol and that problem went away. Just got back from the range again tonight and after 200 rounds can confirm that even when shooting I still do not have any type of pinch on my finger..
