Check your slide stop

AK and old style. No problems with slide lock yet. (600 rounds).

I just recieved my PPS 9mm back (10 days).

My question is, why Walther didn't use the slide stop, with a tab style for my repair?

I'm guessing both types are still considered servicable so they're using up the old type on repairs.

Do you know if they replaced your slide stop or did it just need a spring?

Wow, that's interesting.
I would also be interested to hear if the spring broke, or just jumped the track.
In my intial emails to S&W's repair tech, he stated that they would simply replace my spring with one with a longer leg.
Your spring appears to be the same as mine was, as far as "leg length".

I agree with MilSpec..They're probably just using up old stock.
My letter included with my pistol was rather lengthy, and noted that I was aware of the slide stop issue being a common issue.
What all did you detail with your letter?

Why repaired slide stop spring twice?
Looks like they replaced with a old stock slide stop.

If it broke once . . . or was it made with different metal.

My enclosed letter didn't note I was aware of the slide stop issue.

I see the two small square the top left one is where it stops and it goes down towards by the trigger , its jammed some times and not sure why. this might have been the issue, if it happens again i will check here first..

I have no idea why they'd state they replaced the spring twice...Maybe that's just a typo?
My repair slip stated: REPLACED TRIGGER BAR, which makes NO sense at all, especially when I can visually see that they replaced the slide stop mechanism, as well as the entire striker assembly.

If it "jammed sometimes" this is not the issue. What kind of "jam" are you talking about anyway?
It's difficult trying to interpret what you're saying, but trust me, if you get a slide-lock failure, you'll know...
You won't be able to get the slide closed. Simply moving the slide stop down will not release the slide. It is a catastrophic failure.
It will involve a trip back to S&W.
Do a search on "PPS Slide Lock Failure" to read more.....

Just ordered it from S&W, which assured me that it is the updated version. Will update when i get the part.

Part number is 2686074 for $10.95.
