Just to save me from reading all the posts in this thread, may I ask what is the consensus if you have the old design? Send it in, let 'er rip, pay to replace, or what?
I use my First Edition regularly for CCW, so it is more than just a conversational gambit. |

About 1000 rounds through my early PPS with new slide stop. Absolutely Zero issues and the trigger is nice and smooth.

It's a tough one. What price do you put on piece of mind? I had thousands of rounds through my PPS with the old design slide stop and never had a problem but went ahead and had S&W/Walther install the new one. I too use my PPS for carry.

So the rule of thumb when purchasing a PPS is to get one with a date code of BB or BC just to play it extra safe - yes?

I just bought a PPS 40, Serial number starts with AF, but it has a new style slide lock. I'll load a pic soon? Also, it was test fired Nov, 2010. Am I looking at the right thing? Did I get a remanufactured pistol??

The date stamp is by the stag horn. Should (in your case) start with a B.

Got it! Should have realized they didn't make this in '05! It's a "BA".

BA, OLD version, fire date of "14.04.10"
Came with one clip that holds six .40 rounds. |
