Again, I am probably going to get flamed for not doing enough searching.
I found these vids online:

I had the same questions too.

Is CLP a cleaner or an oil?

Mig1 Unproven
IIRC CLP stands for Cleaner Lubricant and Protectant.

Brought home my PPS today. date code is BB and the test cartridge was fired in November of last year. Hope to shoot it this week. Came with two mags. Got home pretty late, so I have not had time to clean it up and prep for shooting.

I used to use it for every task they specified, but it seems to be a better cleaner than lube. I've since switched to using CLP for cleaning, and heavier lube agents for that specific purpose on my firearms (like TW25B, Tetra-Gun, or Parvulus).

I was thinking it seemed more oily than a cleaner. I also picked up some break free powder blast yesterday that says it's a gun cleaner. When I cleaned it I only greased the slide rails, do you guys recommend greasing the spots it says to oil instead?

I know I made the mistake of using some Winchester cleaning product on a gun of mine with plastic grips - my Tomcat - and it melted those. That product gets very limited use. So I need to head down to the store and pick up something other than my Remoil - some sort of CLP.

Grease sliding surfaces, oil pivoting points and for general corrosion resistance

What magazines came with it? 7 and 8?

I'm a big fan of a Weapon Shield and TW25b combo for lubing. I use Mil-comm (makers of the TW25b) or Slip spray cleaners/degreasers for general maintenance cleaning and Montana's copper killer for hardcore barrel cleaning.

But if you're looking for a cheap way to go (for oil) that still works well... Mobile 1. I know several guys who use it when they have multiple ARs seeing a lot of use. I've used it once or twice and it worked well... But I prefer to stick to my sweet smelling (kinda cinnamon-y) Weapon Shield.
