You're right! I sent the loader back with everything else, so I stopped when I met a lot of resistance, but after your post, I tried again, and with sweaty thumbs I was able to get 2 more rounds in there... that last one was a doosie, but should be much easier with the loader.

Simple, it would cost more money. The idea of creating a 17 round magazine is based on the KISS theory. They used a readily available 15 round magazine and then produced the +2 baseplate and slapped it on the standard, 15 round mag. Cost effective and it works.

Loading a 17 rounder (especially at first) is as big a PIA as loading the last round in a Q45 mag by hand...you need to hold your tongue at just the right angle.
