Just a quick clarification, am I reading the specs for the gun correctly?
Can anyone confirm the length of the firearm (PPQ M2 5"). Surely it is not the same as the 4" barrel 'classic' variant. Specs list that both versions are 7.1" in their respective 9mm configurations. I've snooped around online looking for some answers but the gun is simply too fresh, can't find any confirmation/pics for the m2.

For what its worth, I shot for the first time last week. I was able to shoot a glock 19 and 26, sig p226, xdm 4.5, ppq .40. I was really taken away by the ppq trigger. Didn't think I would be able to tell the difference b/c it was my first time handling a firearm..but wow, it's on a different level. Second fav. probably the glock 19. I didn't like the p226 (I feel as if the rental was terribly beat up, would like to give it another shot).

Anywhom, I'm considering the 5" version for home defense + range gun. If I was able to achieve that incredible accuracy with the 4". I'm hoping that the 5" version will one up it by providing lesser felt recoil + longer sight picture.

I think you are correct in that its just too new. I am holding out for a 5" with the "classic" paddle release. I already have a P99, and while i think the Q's ergonomcis are a bit better for me, and the trigger a bit superior, its just not different enough in its 4" form to justify having both (well...at least to the boss).

Now...a extra inch of barrell, well thats a whole different kind of gun!

Rest assured, the 5" barreled PPQ is 1" longer than the 4" PPQ. Yes, your right, the PPQ trigger is head and shoulders above all its competitors. And, with the extra 1" in length comes some extra slide weight and corresponding/matching recoil spring assembly....which should translate into a smoother/softer shooting variant than it's 4" predecessor.....also should translate into improved accuracy.

I'm in agreement with your decision to pick up a 5" PPQ for home defense + range use. EXCELLENT CHOICE. I too am considering a 5", but I'm also hoping they'll offer the 5" with the paddle mag release, as I've got too many mags already for my original PPQ's. I'll be a buyer for a 5" with paddle mag release and a looker only if all I can find is a button mag release.

Patience.....

So they are definitely offering the 5" with paddles, or is this just us dreaming?

I believe Mark said later this year they would be shipped...check the Q&A, I'm sure it is there.
