I was thinking it seems a bit high.. unless it's retail

why the discrepancy of approximately $90 between the two?

I think its because one is the 5 inch model. S&W had a M&P9 and 9L that was about that much difference.

And as we've seen, the 9mm in general seems to be much more in demand. Even as of the past few months, .40's are more available and a bit cheaper because of it. Not $90 though, so I agree part of that is definitely the barrel size.

I was curious to see if MSRP would rise on the PPQ due to the PPX...but with the panic buying going on, we may not be able to really tell.

Yes, .40 is more expensive, I'd approximate about $5 more per 50ct (9mm vs .40)

That said, I have seen significantly more .40 on the shelves recently than 9mm....
