PPQ M2 Owners manual http://www.waltherarms.com/resources...ries%20USA.pdf

Looks like the PPQ M2 uses a different mag than the original PPQ....oops!

I figured with the new button release it'd be a different mag. Wonder what this will do to the availability of the PPQ Gen 1 Mags. I just bought a PPQ in .40, and I've been having a heck of a time finding 12 round mags for it. I'd like to get another 4 just in case as I prefer the mag release on the gen 1.

Anybody notice that the longslide PPQ is ported? At least, the slide is cut, though that could be for weight.

As to classic PPQ magazines, I wouldn't get too worried. Current P99 magazines work just fine, do they not?

Some other longer barrel pistols have similar openings. The Glock 34 and 35 have one large opening on the top of the slide.

The P99 uses the same mags, and mag release, as the original PPQ.

I doubt any changes will be made to the P99. A lot of police agencies use it, and parts and mags shouldn't be an issue anytime soon.

I buy Walthers largely because of the paddle release.

What to do ????

I own two PPQ,both in 9m/m.I bought two 15 and two 17 rd. magazines directly from Walther(59.95 and 64.95 + shipping).$250.00 in mags.I wish they had kept the same mag. release, but this is for the USA market,so I understand.I do not like a comp. on my CCW handguns, but this is me.The web site does not show any PPQ,except theM2.Sell mine and buy the M2,or keep mine? I am not going to have both models.Comments?>

Assuming that you are comparing the 4" M2 to the original PPQ, it is all preference.

Which one would you prefer more?

You already have mags for the PPQ, and there are cheaper alternatives for mags for the PPQ, like the MR mags. There will be no cheap alternative for mags for this M2 model, short of cutting notches into PPQ mags.

If you want a 5" model though, it seems like you will have to buy one with a push button release, or put a 5" slide and barrel on an older frame.
