Ppq trigger

I'm a little disappointed with my ppq. First the gun was bone dry out of the box and had metal flakes after the first 200 rounds.
More importantly the trigger has a wall. When pulling the slack out you hit a wall and then have to squeeze harder than expected to release the striker. Are your triggers different?

The PPQ is a single action gun. It's always cocked. So, yes, there's a little empty slack until you hit the break point which is right around 4-5 lbs. Did you clean and lubricate your pistol before use?

Mine has definite take up and then breaks right about 5lbs, but I wouldn't call it a "wall"...

I'm a little curious.

1st off --- metal flakes, or paint from the recoil spring inside? Metal flaking is wrong and you might want to examine the gun, then send it in.

2nd --- What you've described is simply a trigger pull...unless you're genuinely struggling to pull the trigger. The PPQ has one of the lightest factory pulls of any polymer gun I've used (and I've used most of them).

Do you have any prior shooting experience, and if so- with what? I'm not sure what your expectations are?

Half way through i did oil it. That is when I found the metal flakes. three flakes were brass and silver.

My other weapons are an XDM, dan Wesson, and a CZ 85. The break just seams excessive for ask the raves that I heard about. I haven't got to have the trigger tested.

Work a small amount of oil into the sear area and end of trigger bar. With live and dry fire the trigger pulls should smooth out nicely. If not, give WaltherUSA a call. Bill

The metal flakes are from shell casings. It's completely normal. Take the gun apart, give it a good cleaning, and a little grease to the trigger, lightly lube the slide, bar, and block. It is a different pull than Springfield or glock, which I consider to be splooshy as opposed to the PPQ's crisper pop. It lets you know the no return mark before it goes off.

I shot mine new out of the box and it felt very good. But, after I cleaned and lubed it... wow! It feels even better now. Couldn't be happier with it!

If you aren't happy with yours, take it back and ask them to check it out for you. Every gun shop I know would be glad to test fire and evaluate it for you if you bought it from them. They should be able to tell you if it is normal or not.

Why shoot a gun out of the box without lubrication? This always confuses me.

I for one love to take my newest additons apart, clean them form head to toe, and get either Weapon Shield or Frog lube(still testing this one) all over them to start the care process.
