What I can say is that the C5L is bright enough for clearing houses in low light or no light, and also has a brighter strobe mode that can disorientate. The X5L G2 is brighter, which may be useful if you are looking to use a light in longer outdoor distances. For me, the C5L suffices as my HD/SD light on the PPQ, and I will have the X5L G2 on a HK45. hth TheWombat |

From your description it sounds like the C5L would work just fine for me. Enough light to clear a room is really all I would need. The C5L really does look great on the PPQ. I just wish they made a light only version for less cost. I have to make a decision because I can't get a holster made up until I have a light picked out. |

If I can give my .02 cents on this issue. My buddy has a C5L and yes it is quite nice but really too expensive IMO. I have never been a fan of lasers but I can see their purpose on some applications. I have quite a few Streamlights, some of those on my handguns and they have performed for me far more than I could ask for. I think for the PPQ the TLR-3 is the best light for the money (of course no laser). It is small, fits well and is priced nicely and gives enough light for room clearing applications. Pairing up against the C5L my TLR-3's light seems just as bright if not more (some of your views may vary). Holsters for these lights are becoming more available, especially in kydex. Just my thought

If you liked the TLR-3 but wanted a laser too, Streamlight just came out with the TLR-4 which is a 3+laser.
Streamlight TLR-4 Compact Handgun Laser Sight Flashlight FREE S&H 69240, 69241, 69242. Streamlight Flashlights. The problem I have with lasers below lights is the height under bore is really bad. |

I went with a X5L Gen 2 on my PPQ. It is very bright both laser and light. Dialing in was easy. I like it for home defense since I can light and laser on at night. Plus I opted for it vs. night sights.

As far as suppressor sights, I've found it easy to look through to the can on to the target. The night sights seem to help with this. Yea, I'm really not sure the X300 will clear the PPQ with a suppressor. I'll take another look. |
