PPQ magazine question
Does anyone know if the P99 magazines are compatable with the PPQ. If it os a whole new magazine I'm not even considering one. On yhe other hand if the same magazine is used then that makes it more palatable.

Take this for what it is....but I have read on other sites that the "newer" style P99 magazines will work.
I have a PPQ that should be arriving on Friday...I'll post about the mags when it arrives. |

Will do...I'm a huge fan of the P99, so I'll compare the two as closely as I can.

I had the same question some time ago about mag compatability. Emailed Walther USA and never got a response. Others thoughts I was having was about holster compatibility with the P99 and what type of sight options would be available. It will be interesting to hear your report maestro.

Do the PPQ mags have that notch on the back of the feed lip on the left side to make room for the ejector? I remember hearing a while back when people were using aftermarket mags in their P99 that did not have that cutout, and were breaking the ejectors off of their P99 pistols while inserting a mag.
I'm curious why Walther stated that the 15rd mags are not interchangeable, but the 17rd mags are? |

So, if anyone is into collecting magazines: Maybe this is the time to get P99/PPQ clones. |

I picked up a PPQ yesterday and have owned P99s for some time now, and aside from an orange follower and the floorplate on the PPQ mag saying PPQ I cant see any difference. The P99 mag fits the PPQ and locks back the slide. Both the P99 and PPQ appear to have the same relief cut for the ejector. I havent fired it yet though so the proof would be in the firing. The mag body even says P99 on the PPQ mags.

I just compared the 10 rd P99 mags that I got with my first gen P99 back during the bad old mag ban days and they do not have the ejector relief cuts that the later P99 mags have. There may be other differences also. The factory Walther banner(mec gar) mags I compared the PPQ mag with in my last post I have bought within the last six months. Point being that the older P99 mags may not work whereas the newer ones may. Some clarification from Walther would be helpful. Last edited by Dean762; 05-16-2011 at 02:12 AM. |
