It is a 1968 German manufactured (actually french, of course) Walther PPK in 7.65mm caliber. The frame serial number has a "R" suffix. My Walther book explains "L" suffix as light weight (alloy) frame version, and the "LR" suffix as .22 caliber version. Anyone know what the "R" suffix indicates? |

I found some information to indicate that Manhurin erroneously made PP's and PPK's with the same serial numbers and then were given the suffixes "R" or "D". So it would seem that there is another PP or PPK out there with your same serial number, except that it has a "D" instead of the "R" like yours.
Hope this helps.
