3 grand PPK/S

Sponsored Links
I was browsing the Gunbroker auctions this afternoon and came across this one. Don't think I've ever seen a PPK/S go for this kind of price. Not even with factory engraving. Wonder if I'm missing something about the gun? Wowsers...and for a .380.

Opening bid was $600. There is obviously a decimal misplaced.

Holy smokes that is insane. I spent $400 for my Manurhin PPK/s in similar condition minus the cleaning rod and olive fork. Dang... that is just stunningly insane for a later model gun.

Obviously, some one thought they were bidding on an AR rather than a Walther.....

It does seem that there may have been a 'pissing contest' involved here; that is a silly price for a really nice pistol.
If you haven't noticed, things in the gun world are just nuts right now.

Yeah the hubby and I swung by a local gun-show this past weekend. Absolutely everything was full on panic pricing.

I was just on another post about crazy sale prices. I think it was a post about the WA2000 rifle. I know they were a limited run, and like most other Walthers, ahead of their time...

Sold for a hair over 34k. My eyes came out of my head...

The bid history explains a lot as far the price-- I think. A couple of guys with little expierence (at least at GB) getting into like previously mentioned a pissing match. Also strange that a gunshop would even think of bidding in the $2K range for a PPK/S. I've been watching the PPK/S market lately and it's definitely firming up. Boxed German PPK/S at GB in LN condition have gone for $1100-1500 in recent weeks and I thought that was unusual and about $300-400 more than they were in the spring summer of 2012.
