range report, P22, PPK, and others
Sponsored Links
The P22 (with several mods suggested here: http://www.freespeech.com/1917-1911M_P22_bible.pdf) performed flawlessly on magazine after magazine of CCI Mini-Mag hollow points and shows no signs of wear internally. The Alabama PPK in .32 ran several brands of ammo without the slightest problem and felt extremely comfortable to operate. As usual the LCP stung the hand like a wasp and pinched the trigger finger painfully. This little firecracker is not a plinker! It has one use only. The M9 and 1911 put round after round inside the same two-inch circle and basically behaved like combat pistols. What a great day!

TTKT, I agree with your assessment of the Ruger LCP. Great gun to carry, not so great to shoot. I find that after four magazines of ammo I'm done for that shooting session. That's with Hogue grips on her!
I have a number of Walthers. Much nicer at the range, somewhat less reliable if dirty and lots heavier to carry for the given caliber (.380). Each has its place. Rich |

Here's another picture of the .32 PPK. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite pistols.

Needless to say the Ranger .32 put holes in holes at the pistol range!

Predictably I shot my best groups with the 1911. Toward the end of the day my PPK groups were getting better but not nearly as good as with the Springfield .45. None of my groups are helped by 55-year-old eyes and tri-focal glasses, but I do shoot better today than I did ten years ago for some reason.

My LCP is a snappy little fellow alright. I have small/medium hands but do a lot of outside work in my landscaping business. Shooting 200 rounds doesn't seem to bother my hand (s). But, it isn't like shooting a .22. My sons S&W PPK/S in .380 really kicked and bothered me much more than the LCP. I've wondered about that....the PPK seems to drive straight back while the LCP flips up somewhat. Have to agree though, with almost no sights the LCP has one use. That Beretta should be a good shooter. M1911

BTW, if you carefully dimple and drill the front sight and just below the rear one, you can put a dab of paint in the resulting holes that really assists sight alignment. But it ain't a target gun. Moon |

'57, your pistol is less than 200 guns older than mine. Yeah, what a great little piece. Got mine on Gunbroker after a short search, and money well spent.
The .32 is the right round for the gun. Hard to argue with the 1911 or the M9...you've spent your money wisely. Moon |

Y'all carry these woosie guns if you want, but not me. M No, it's just for fun. I'm not trying to provoke a caliber war. Last edited by MGMike; 01-21-2013 at 09:38 PM. Reason: Really. |
