What we can say without pics: It's a former police gun made in 1961.

walther pp pics added
will have to learn how to post, here are links to photo bucket
I put 100 rounds thru it, 1 FTF. otherwise great, but one caveat. The empty magazine slide hold open only works with one mag. why would that be? http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/u...psae91a045.jpg http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps9ef26776.jpg http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/u...psbc656f0f.jpg http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps132df79e.jpg |

In addition: Polizei Hessen (=> Hesse police). The x-ed out marking is the coat of arms of Hesse.
Perhaps the magazine is dirty or something at the mag is twisted and the follower can't lift up the ejector. Or the follower is defect (to much notched by the ejector). I would clean the mag carfully at first.

magazine issue
top lips on the one magazine that does not hold the slide back have a slightly different profile than the one that does - both are walther mags. will try cleaning. I assume these mags are scare. do the S&W versions fit? also, I think I read that ppm/s magazines will work. Is that true. It's a nice pistol, easy to shoot and accurate. I wish it was as easy to find .32 acp as it is to find 9mm ammo.
I tried the [img] [/img] tags and it didn't work Last edited by jz2pp; 01-21-2013 at 01:24 AM. |

JZ, try MacGar spare magazines made in Italy, they make also the OEM mags for S&W. Use magazines made for the Walther PP and/or PPK/S. These will work. To explain the difference between your both magazines take some photos...

You might want to run a search on the Pachmeyr grips. They are known to cause problems on the Walther model PP series pistols. In addition to adding a Mec-Gar mag or two (check out CDNN Sports), it's easy enough to get replacement grips that will match up, making your Walther look and run like ... well, like an original. Nice pistol; thanks for sharing.

also, what is roughly the market value on this version of the PP. I thought I got an ok deal, and I hope the cost of proper grips will not take me over market value.
