Most of the Ranger pistols work quite well. They also are built on the original specs of the German-made Walthers, which the S&W pistols are not. If you must have German/Frernch production values, the Interarms pistol will find a new home easily enough; lots of folks here like them. You might want to consider offering it for sale in the Trading Post section. Just be sure to read the Rules of Engagement first.

Hello, I am hoping you can help with some information on a few Walthers I recently purchased. Here's the info:
Walther "Made in West Germany" Model PPK/S Cal. 9mm Kurtz Serial #186190 S
The second one is the exact same as above withe Serial# 186191S
They're both in the original boxes and one has the owners manual and cleaning rod. They appear in mint condition and never used.
Any info/value you might think they are worth would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Always a great place to start:

Value? Year made? What do I have? Please start here first

You'll find the year of proof located at the ejection port. A two digit number (74 for example = 1974) together with eagle/N (nitro proof) and an antler (proofhouse = Ulm) are the German proofmarks. In most cases the year of proof is also the year the gun was made.

...and Martin pegged the year quite closely. it is 74, or 75 at the latest.

Carlm,

You had picked up two mint condition pistols with consecutive serial numbers, in their orginal boxes where they from the same previous owner. That is a rare to find in itself, even if you are buying new.

Please share some pictures.
