PPK magazine finger rest.

I have a new to me early 90s vintage PPK. I want to get a finger rest for the spare mag. What is a good source for this that is a mechanicly reliable part?

Gunbroker has them occasionally in the $20 range. If you want to pay a small fortune, some "original" ones will show-up for a LOT more. Smith and Wesson may sell you the modern style, which comes on all newer gun mags. I have ordered some off e-bay before but sent them right back to the seller. They were seriously flimsy and a total waste of money. You can almost purchase a new mag (380 and 32) with the modern rest as cheaply as you can buy the finger-rest alone. If you are looking for a "period" rest....the price goes up.

I have used the Mec-Gar magazines for my PPK & PPK/S Walthers and they have performed flawlesssly. You can get them with or without the finger rest. You won't be disappointed. I have also been told that they have provided OEM mags in the past for Walthers.

I think what he wants to do is just get the finger rest part for the bottom of the mag and convert his "nekked" one to one with the rest - not buy a whole new magazine.

I don't know if you can get them as replacement parts nor if the ones for current S&W mags will fit older ones.
