Made in West Germany rollmark question.
I was curious how the location of this rollmark affects the value of a non import stamped ppk. I have seen it on the slide, below the mag release or not there at all.

IIRC; firearm serial numbers and country of origin were not 'required' until the GCA of 1968.

I guess that would explain why my 1966 model lacks the rollmark. I'm still curious if the location of the rollmark affects collector value.

Not as much as if the pistol might come without the mark at all. Collectors will often pay a premium for those particular pistols.
