With a good small flashlight and the slide off the frame, you can see if the spring is properly positioned. The trigger bar has a narrow slit in it where one end of the spring should be seated.

Thanks for your advice. As far as I can tell, it seems to be properly seated. It looks the same as my other PPK (that functions ). I'm trying to decide if it is worth sending out.
