My PP Super 380 ACP

Want to share some pics of my Walther PP Super 380 ACP. Date stamp indicates 1978 production.

Wow, very nice!

I saw one a while back in 9mm-Police.
The odd caliber made me pass.

Fantastic looking pistol.
Can see a little PPK, and a little P5 in it...

Need I ask - how does it shoot?

Hooray on the caliber. I passed on one years ago because of the Police-caliber issue; never been able to find out what it has in common with either .380 or 9mm. I'd consider picking one up if I could at least reload for it on normal dies.
But the OP has that issue licked; nice find.

I purchased this pistol NIB and probably won't shoot it. It's a nice Walther transition pistol.

Wow!
Nice and rare gun. Only 1300 were made (ser.no. 100001 - 101300) in cal. .380
Congratulation!

The PP Super shows that even otherwise intelligent people have lapses of dementia.

Very interesting gun and great find.

Does anyone know why this variation of the PP was created? The Dieter Marschall book doesn't help answer this question. It seems that this was an attempt to produce a 9mm police version of the popular PP (11,102 9mm versus 1,300 .380 ACP) that may not have worked well considering that even .380 ACP stretches the limits of a blowback design.
