Moon....if the gun shows up with "yeller" dots in the sights....I will take your advice.
If any of you guys now anything about South Park.....this buddy's nick-name is Butters. Some of us call him Cartman, but he acts more like Butters. Last edited by autonut; 01-20-2012 at 06:53 AM. |

hello friends,
When I get old and feeble....maybe I should say older and more feeble...I may keep the red dot on the 380, change to a blue dot on the 32 and change the red dot on the 22 to a green dot so I can tell them all apart. But....he!!....I may be blind by then anyway. thanks |

All....I got the gun in-hand and am very well pleased. $455 free ship off GB from a very good dealer. 10-mags full of assorted LR so far (fast or slow) and not a blip on the screen. The sight-dots are red and not "yeller". I am a happy camper.

TPH Prices................
A FFL buddy & I are always on the look for additional TPH aquisitions. We will buy any decent TPH .22LR model for under $500.00. Our preference is complete boxed sets but we will buy whatever we find. We also buy any decent genuine TPH .22LR magazine we can find for under $50.... We have been collecting Walthers (PP, PPK, TPH) for more than 25 years and have seen the market prices steadily rise. Boxed TPH sets (box, papers, pistol, 2 mags) are getting harder & harder to find for less than $600-$700... many are asking quite a bit more... PP & PPK in .22LR are substantially more. Most sellers are now breaking up sets & selling pistol, papers, box, and mags seperately. Walther PP, PPK, TPH .22LR mags are going for $100 or more each. A few years ago my buddy bought 50-60 genuine TPH .22LR mags for less than $20 each. Now, they seem to be more scarce than the actual pistol. I have seen some sellers trying to sell the TPH without any magazine. A bad deal for others but not so bad for us since we can pair them with mags we already have. We both carry Walthers... we collect Walthers & we buy them as long-term investments.

After the dust settled, I have around $375 invested in a TPH 22lr, original box and papers, a handful of magazines and a complete set of internal parts right down to the grip-screws. I had to work pretty darn hard to work it all down to that price, but I doubt I will ever see another one close to it. The last one I saw at a show was $625 plus-tax with one mag and looked like it had not been cleaned since it was built. The only thing resembling a box and papers was the price-tag tied to the trigger guard.

good for you!
autonut, good score! thats a helluva price. i got a gently used, well cared for, 97-99% mint TPH .25 from an elderly gentleman i previously bought an interarms PPK .32 from. when i bought the .32 he showed me the TPH in an off the cuff "look what i have here" manner. i offered to buy it on the spot but he declined. for the record, the safety red spot on my .32 is drying and peeling back and the one on the TPH was gone completely so i repainted it with One Shot sign paint and a toothpick. he fell on hard times when his car committed suicide and called me about the TPH. said he wanted $625 for it, i countered with 550. he said since i bought the other pistol from him he'd split the difference and lemme have it for $575 and i snatched it. case, target, cleaning brush, book, paperwork, all there, plus an extra mag he bought separately, as well as a gun rug and a holster. i had been researching the TPH since i saw his and from what i read the .25 is much rarer than the .22. i bought it knowing i paid average to high market price but didn't care. like you, i had to have one. i'm VERY happy with it and it fires beautifully. i can hit a man sized target from 40-50 feet in the vitals with no problems. they like hotter rounds like cci stingers and the like. i run hydroshocks in mine. fire it, enjoy it, don't worry about "collector" value, because if you're like me, you'll never sell it. but i'm gonna buy another one because of scarcity of parts. it would be a shame to not be able to fire it because of something simple breaking. and yes, i do carry mine daily as a BUG to my S&W .380 and the interarms .32. after all, whats the sense to own something if you don't use it occasionally?

I have suffered my share of buyers-remorse situations, but in this case...all the cards fell into place. With some serious horse-trading, finagling and just plain good luck I came out feeling pretty good about this investment.
The one I have will even digest the hit-or-miss Remington Gold in bulk and if it will shoot that junk....it should shoot anything. |

TPH prices...
Kankujo
Read your post regarding Walther TPH's with interest, and thought I'd let you know that I have two of my own which I purchased when they were first available. One of which is NIB with all including correct sn box, test target, manual, one magazine, and Walther cloth pouch. The other is nearly new, in that I carried it a bit, but it's also complete with box, etc. Both of these are very low S/N, with one being under T00500, and the other under T00600. They both became "safe queens" quite some time back, and I've been considering selling one, and possibly both of them. If you or any other forum members would have some interest, please contact me, or go to gun brokers web site to view the lower s/n'd pistol. Also thought I'd add my 2 cents worth on the ammo....CCI stingers worked well in mine. |

Make sure you get them listed in the "Trading Post" area of the forum here also. I see you're a new guy with one post.....welcome aboard!
I am glad I stumbled across mine when I did. No way could I have reached as deep as $600 plus. The current asking prices sure make me happy though. ![]() BTW....I just love to come over to Oregon as often as I can....pretty country over there. Last edited by autonut; 02-29-2012 at 06:09 PM. |
