I don't normally like to rip on people for things like this(more of a "different strokes for different folks" kinda guy), but man I just can't wrap my head around this one(especially that asking price!)...

I guess it takes a certain type of person to do... whatever we're supposed to call "that" to a gun; so perhaps one thousand dollars seems perfectly "reasonable" to someone meeting the above criteria... *shakes head, woefully*

Oh, and while I appreciate Darkstar so kindly reposting the images for our viewing dis-pleasure, they look to be phone screen-caps, and you can't truly appreciate this masterpiece of modern 'art' without access to the original, full resolution images; I took the liberty of registering a throwaway account over on their forum under a disposable email service just so I could nab the files and upload them for you folks over here(...and then promptly dispose of them from my computer's harddrive, sheesh, definitely not a keeper in my book *shudders*).

The comments here are no doubt the reason why the pistol's owner didn't offer it for sale on this forum.

I just checked the original post and see that the pistol is SOLD. I'm glad it found a new home. While not something I was interested in, I DO appreciate all the work and innovation that went in to producing this 'one of a kind' P99.

It looks like a first time attempt to be creative with the gun but it did not go well, I would make sure it is inspected so I know it's safe to use seeing some places he spray painted or painted could effect the preformance.

Honestly it's not something I would buy but there is someone out there who did want it as it did sell.

There is a lesson to be learned here. If you decide to modify your firearm, to better suit your specific tastes or status as a superhero or a James Bond wannabe, remember that when you go to sell it, it is highly likely the potential buyers do not share your taste or opinions of yourself. Regardless of how much money you might have spent "improving" it. Indeed, it is more likely that the pool of potential buyers will interpret what you have done as having harmed the value of said firearm.
