P99 Pistol Grip

Sponsored Links
So I was recently gifted a P99 Millennium edition but I noticed that on the pistol grip it was missing a piece, I have been looking but I can't even find the name for it, I was wondering anyone would lend me a hand?

It's ah Griffrücken, auswechselbar ... that's german for back strap. See image below. Probably be able to use a back strap for any P99....but that's just a guess. And if they are like the PPQ they'll come in 3 different thicknesses.

Check this out..

Could most likely just call smith and wesson and they could send you one, probably for free. They're pretty good about stuff like that, just say you lost the backstraps to your P99 and maybe give them the year

Huh?

You got me on that one...I'm tryin' to think right now, but nothing's happening. I think that's got something to do with age....seems like the older I get, the more that happens. So, WTH's an IPB? I'm sure it's something simple....and as soon as you spell it out, I'll hit my forehead with the heel of my hand and say doohhhh.

A simple google search for "P99 Manual" would have yielded this which would have answered your backstrap question and shows how it is replaced.

In addition to the backstrap, you'll need a 4mm roll pin to secure it.

The P99 FAQ section will give you a wealth of info, including everything mentioned so far. Here's the IPL P99 AS & Compact Illustrated Parts List
