When I was trying to decide I went to the LGS and fondled both. The trigger and and grip is what sold me on the PPQ. It was very close. I dont think you could go wrong with either. I am now looking for a good deal on a p99 .45 and a MR40 eagle so I can have three separate pistols with mostly the same function. Don't let anyone tell you which is better. It will come down to how it feels in your hand and what trigger YOU prefer. (maybe aesthetics)

And as far as caliber..... If you dont see yourself on the assault team shooting through windshields and barriers go with the 9mm for its availability and price. But if you feel you may need to shoot through objects to get the bad guy.....40. I am not a caliber snob. I like shooting them all. As you probably guessed by my quest for a .40 and .45 p99 platform to accompany my 9mm PPQ.
