No.
Why would I want one? The gun is absolutely reliable with factory equipment. What is the advantage? |

I use it in my P99c AS, and I believe Searcher does as well. Very pleased with it.

Yup. I put one in a year ago. The pistol performed great with the original equipment, and it also performs great with the BT guide. So why do it? It's one less thing that I have to think about going amiss if the time every comes when my life would depend on the function of the P99C, which is my daily carry piece.

I have one in my P99 AS 9mm. I like it. Adds a little weight in the front of the gun which I like. Functions just as good as the factory one. An unnecessary upgrade but oh well.

Pardon my ignorance, but are these rods metal? At first I was a little concerned about the polymer guide rod, but every single person I've talked to has told me it won't ever be a problem.

I would have agreed until I saw the picture of the rod end poped off that was posted in a thread on this forum. This got me to worrying some.

Yes, these are metal guide rods with factory springs. And, yes, there have been the odd occasional failure of the plastic ones, but not really enough to be of major concern. I just prefer the metal guide rod, and I keep the original plastic one as a backup.

I do not have a P99 but I do have one in my PPS. Fantastic product with no worries of the plastic one failing. I don't like the way Walther assembled their plastic rods. All you have is a hollow plastic tube with a barb on the end button holding the entire thing together. I'll take a stainless rod that screws together, thank you.
